Women’s Clothing Guidelines
1. Clothing should be clean,
pressed, current style, in season and on hangers.
Clothing is accepted during regular business hours. No
appointment is needed.
The Season changes are as follows:
Spring - February, March, April
Summer - April, May, June
Fall - August, September, October
Winter - October, November, December
2. Please limit the quantity to 20
items each visit. This amount will allow us to be fair
to all our consignors.
3. Brands that are selling well
include Ann Taylor, Talbots, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor
Loft, Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, Geoffrey
Beene, Boutique Brands & Designer Labels. While these are
just a sampling of the name brands, we are definitely
looking for any "upscale" brands and styles.
4. Handbags and shoes are being
accepted on a limited basis temporarily. They should be new
or in "like new" condition and be a top quality brand.
5. The consignment period is 90
days. Clothing will sell at full price for the
first 30 days. It will then be discounted 20% and 40% each
30-day period. Consignors will receive 50% of the selling
price. Prices are determined by The Stork Exchange
and are approximately 30-50% of the original sales
price.
6. There is a semi-annual
consigning fee of $3.95 ( January - June and July -
December ) and a minimal ninety cent per item
stocking fee. The consignment fee will be deducted from
your account at time of consignment. After 90 days, items
become the property of The Stork Exchange and are
usually donated but may be sold or discarded. Consignors may
take back unsold items up to 2 weeks before the end of their
consignment period. Once an item is consigned, it must
remain for the full consignment period, except for the 2
week grace period. If you would like your unsold items back,
we ask that the consignor keep track of their consignment
time and expiration dates. We are happy to supply that
information during store hours.
7. Funds are available 3 days after
an item has been sold and posted. Amounts up to
$50.00 will be paid by cash in the store. Balances more
than $50 will be paid by check. Checks will be issued on
demand ( by the owner of the store ) or mailed within 7
days. Automatic monthly checks may be requested and are
mailed by the 7th of each month, for those
accounts with a minimum $50 balance. Account balances may
also be used as store credit.
8. Although all possible care is taken
of your merchandise, The Stork Exchange is
not responsible for theft or undisclosed damage at the time
of consignment.
